It is the mission of Minne Lusa Elementary School, in partnership with families and community, to provide rigorous educational opportunities in a safe and secure environment.

Greetings Minne Lusa Families and Friends!!

We want to remind everyone that there is no school this Monday, September 2nd for Labor Day.

We are excited to begin our partnership with Partnership for Kids on Tuesday, September 3rd. Students in grades Pre-K through 3 will have Book Buddies read to their classes and students in grades 4 through 5 will have Goal Buddies that will help students set academic and attendance goals twice a month. These mentors will meet regularly with our students and will provide many unique opportunities throughout this school year. Click here to learn more about Partnership for Kids.

Partnership for Kids is inviting Minne Lusa students and families to be a cheer squad for the Omaha Marathon that will pass right by our school. On Sunday, September 15th from 7:30AM to Noon, we would love students and families to join us at the corner of Minne Lusa Boulevard and Sharon Drive to celebrate the runners. Partnership for Kids will have treats for the cheer squad that morning.

Our Minne Lusa Chorus has been invited to sing the National Anthem at the men's UNO soccer game on Friday, September 27th. This is a major honor for our students and this opportunity is made possible by Partnership for Kids.
 
We have our first Family Engagement Meeting this coming Wednesday, September 4th at 9:00AM in our new Family and Community Engagement Room (102). We will be sharing information regarding the new Reading Improvement Act as well as opportunities for families to be involved at our school.

Minne Lusa Daily Schedule

8:00 a.m. Administrators and Secretary on duty

8:30 a.m. Safety Patrols arrive at assigned posts

8:25 a.m. Teachers on duty

8:35 a.m. Grab and Go Breakfast begins

Students will not be allowed in the building before 8:35 a.m.

8:50 a.m. Tardy bell – Classes in session

8:50 a.m. Breakfast program ends

4:05 p.m. School dismisses

4:15 p.m. Patrols off duty

4:25 p.m. Teachers off duty

4:30 p.m. Administrators and Secretary duty ends
